The short answer
A standard panel is 2400 × 600 × 21 mm, about 7′10″ × 2′, covering 1.44 m² (15.5 sq ft). For walls taller than 2.4 m, 2700 and 2900 mm lengths avoid a horizontal joint. Divide the wall width by 0.6 m and round up to get the panel count, then add one spare for every ten panels.
Panel sizes
| Panel | Metric | Imperial | Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 2400 × 600 × 21 mm | 94-1/2″ × 23-5/8″ × 13/16″ | 1.44 m² · 15.5 sq ft |
| Tall | 2700 × 600 × 21 mm | 106-1/4″ × 23-5/8″ | 1.62 m² · 17.4 sq ft |
| Extra tall | 2900 × 600 × 21 mm | 114-1/8″ × 23-5/8″ | 1.74 m² · 18.7 sq ft |
| Square | 600 × 600 × 21 mm | 23-5/8″ × 23-5/8″ | 0.36 m² · 3.9 sq ft |
Lengths from 600 to 3000 mm and widths of 280, 400 or 520 mm are made to order. Standard Ontario ceilings of 8′ to 9′ fit the 2400 or 2700 mm panel.
Panel calculator
Enter the wall you want to cover. The count rounds up to whole panels and adds a little for cuts.
Worked example
A 12′ × 8′ amenity room wall is 3.66 m wide and 2.44 m high. That’s just over the 2400 mm panel, so it takes 2700 mm panels cut down: 3.66 ÷ 0.6 = 6.1, rounded up to 7 panels, plus one spare for cuts. Across a 60-suite building with the same feature wall in every 2-bedroom, we’d quote it per unit type with the doors and trim.
Also order
- End caps or single slats for each exposed end.
- Screws and adhesive: we work out the quantities from your wall sizes and put them on the quote.
- Battens if you’re batten-mounting, every 40–60 cm up the wall.
Common questions
What size are acoustic slat panels?
The standard size is 2400 × 600 × 21 mm (about 7′10″ × 2′). 2700 and 2900 mm lengths and 600 × 600 mm squares are also available.
How many acoustic panels do I need for a wall?
Divide the wall width by 0.6 m (or about 2 ft) and round up, then add one spare for every ten panels to allow for cuts.
