How we counted
- Doors by width and type. Every door in the floor plans and the design’s building model, matched to its tag in the door schedule. All interior doors are 80″ (6′-8″) high.
- Solid core throughout. The design notes call for solid core wood doors on every interior opening, so this takeoff prices them that way. Hollow core closets or utility doors are an easy switch if your spec allows it.
- Accessible-ready units take 36″ doors. Unit 2 is drawn accessible-ready, so the bedroom and washroom doors on the path through the suite are 36″. The design also shows a standard layout; we counted the accessible-ready one.
- Casing. Both faces of each swing and pocket door, the room side of each closet opening, and the inside face of exterior doors, worked out from each opening’s real width: 1,085 ft net.
- Baseboard. The wall length of every room on every floor, less each door opening: 1,289 ft net. Cabinet, tub and stair runs aren’t deducted, which covers part of the cutting allowance.
- Levers. Privacy sets on bedrooms and washrooms, passage sets everywhere else.
Not in this takeoff
- 10 exterior doors (entry, glass and balcony doors).
- Finish paint: doors and trim arrive primed.
- Installation: we supply, your carpenters hang.

Counted by Premier Building Products from the published technical design package for this design in Canada’s Housing Design Catalogue. These are our own quantities, not part of the design package. They do not represent an endorsement of Premier by CMHC or the Government of Canada. A design adapted for a real lot changes, so we take off your final drawings before we quote.
